So you wanna get ripped? But don’t know where to start? You wanna get ripped, but can’t afford the equipment to get you there?
I recommend taking a few moments then to think about body weight exercises. Quite often people go out and spend a few grand thinking that they need that equipment for the results they want. After 2 weeks of using it it normally just sits there collecting dust.
But if you start off using your own body weight to exercise with there is no upfront cost. You can get a routine set and then not feel guilty when you stop (which you won’t since you are so motivated to change your life).
Here are a few quick ones I recommend.
Leg lifts:
Lieing on your side, rest your arm lengthwise along your body, so your hand should be resting on your hips. Lift your top leg slowly and point your toes to the ceiling. Now slowly lower it back down. Sudden movements will not be any benefit, slow is the way to go. After a couple times of repeating this exercise you should feel the muscles working in your butt and calf. Do one set of 10, then switch to your other leg, repeat for 3 sets on each leg.
Push-up:
Pretty sure this one is pretty easy, go google a push up if you don’t know one.
Sit-ups:
If you are just starting out, I recommend finding something to anchor your toes with that way you can focus on the core of this exercise rather then trying to keep your feet on the floor.
Jumping Jacks:
Jumping jacks are a quick way to get the blood flowing, if you are feeling extra energetic go to a burpee instead. Burpees are a jumping jack that starts with you in a push up position, starting with a push up, you get to your feet, jump while clapping your hands above your head. Repeat this a couple times, and you will feel it.
There you have it folks, a couple body weight exercises, a couple days of doing these and you will start to feel great!
